Biweekly meetings begin ahead of Fall 2026, focused on course planning and preparation for the first teaching appointment.
Faculty mentors
Every E3 Fellow is paired with an experienced faculty mentor who guides them through the full nine months — from course planning to the culminating scholarly teaching contribution.
The role
Individualized guidance, all year long.
Mentors meet biweekly with their fellow in preparation for and through the semester — discussing teaching challenges, classroom observations, professional growth, and career development — followed by monthly check-ins.
They also provide feedback on fellows’ instructional innovations and scholarly teaching projects, fostering reflective practice and continuous improvement. At the end of the year, mentors join the Department or Unit Chair in a final structured evaluation of the fellow’s overall growth and readiness as an engineering educator.

Into the spring
Monthly check-ins support the two-course load and the implementation and evaluation of the instructional innovation.
